New Year's Resolutions - NOT!
You know the worst part about falling behind in posting? No, I mean BESIDES the bitching from people who want it updated NOW. The worst part, I think, is the process of catching up. I mean really, how can I remember all the stuff that's happened since my last post?
Working backward....Last week I became an "official" reunion coordinator for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. What that means is that I'll be helping to reunite Katrina victims with their pets. So many people in the south were moved to different parts of the country while their pets generally went to another part. These poor folks are still trying to find their lost pets after all these months. Anyway, I just received my first case tonight. The rewards for this type of effort will be incredible...if I can actually find some missing pets. More on that as it progresses.
I met with God (Mr. Accountant) last Friday. He's still doing my business accounting free of charge. Without digging deep into all the paperwork I brought him, he said to tell Mr. Furfection that he'll owe me a great big "thank you" for all the tax deductions. Of course, I passed along that message:-)
Hand/wrist surgery is definitely in my immediate future. The last cortisone injection only made my wrist worse. Not only does it feel like it's burning constantly; it's also keeping me up at night. After many knee surgeries before they finally had to be replaced, I'm very familiar with that burning feeling, and I know it means surgery. The question is "when?" There is never a "good" time for something like that.
It's been raining for 40 days and 40 nights. What suprises me is that NO ONE is selling arks! There are always opportunists waiting to sell you what you need when you need it the most, and charging exhorbitant prices goes without saying. So where are they when we need them? Seriously tho, enough is enough. The two dogs can't stand being in the house any longer, so they demand a w-a-l-k whether it's raining or not (which it always is). The living room carpet got so dirty from their running in and out that, after I shampooed it, I also gated it. No more dogs on pale carpet until it's dry outside. Sheesh.
I survived my first Christmas season for the business, and I learned that after December 15 or so, I can pack up and leave town. No one was doing any ordering. The good news is that they've already started up again. BTW, I just read that most online shoppers were finished with their shopping by December 17.
The January newsletter is finished and ready to send. I've been waiting until people were back to work and caught up on their email. I was also waiting for some product photos for the new sterling charms. Those came this evening, so the newsletter will go tomorrow.
I realize this isn't a very good job of catching up on almost two weeks of my exciting life;-) but it will have to do for now. I thought about making a New Year's resolution to blog on a regular basis. Immediately following that thought was "Bullshit." I guess that means "no," eh? :-)
