Lights Out

The new printer arrived last night! It only took two days - that's impressive. Now let's keep our fingers crossed that it will work just fine from here on out.

I spent at least four hours last night revamping the "Ask The Vet" page of the Furfection website. It's gotten such a terrific response that the page had grown way too long. So I've now divided it into three sections, each with their own separate page:
General Q/A (referring to both cats and dogs); Dogs Q/A; Cats Q/A. I think this is much less unwieldy, and I hope customers do, too.

Last night brought me exactly two hours of sleep. I learned the hard way that I can't be using my lightbox (for S.A.D.) AND having double-lattes. It's one or the other, but not both. So I stopped at Peet's today and bought some decaf espresso. We'll see how that works.

Today I pulled one of my blondest moves yet. I had a bottle of juice from lunch that I took with me after I left the deli, and I stupidly didn't put it in my cup holder. Both holders were already holding a travel mug and a bottled water. You know what I'm about to tell you. I turned a corner and the bottle fell over and spilled all over my console. That's where my emergency flashers and door lock buttons happen to be. So a few miles down the road, my flashers came on and I couldn't turn them off. I discovered that as long as I held down on the button, they wouldn't flash, so I had to drive home that way. Sheesh.

Once I got the car in the garage, the flashers still wouldn't stop. After a while, they'd stop for maybe 10 seconds, then they'd start up again. Finally I called the service department at the dealership and told Mr. Bimmer what I'd done. (He's a Furfection customer, btw.) He told me how to take the flasher assembly out of the console and dry it out with a hair dryer. So it's still disassembled, and I'm hoping it will completely dry out overnight. I'll see tomorrow if the flashers will work after this. If not, I'm sure it will cost me $5000 for a new flasher unit. (OK, so I'm exaggerating, but probably not by much!)

The cortisone injection I had in my wrist yesterday has left me with a very achy wrist. Dr. Hand Surgeon reminded me that these are just prolonging the inevitable, and that eventually they'll stop giving me any relief at all. I know, I know. But who wants hand surgery if they can put it off for a few months or a year? Certainly not me. Especially when it's my left hand...and I'm left-handed.

Last night's lack of sleep is quickly catching up with me, so good night and have a pleasant tomorrow:-)
