Early Christmas
Only one order all week. The Bahamas are sounding better and better. But other things have happened this week to keep life interesting. DHL picked up the old/new printer to return to Dell, and in the same trip, dropped off my portable audio system for my iPod. I swear, it felt like Christmas. What an awesome thing!! It sounds so good, I'll be carrying it all around the house:-)
Speaking of iPods, I learned Apple Stores have something called a "Genius Bar" where you can make an appt. online to talk to a tech support person - for free - about your Apple product. I went this week and had the iPod looked at. I have no idea what young Mr. Genius did, but it's working perfectly now. Happy, happy, happy!
Then Tuesday, my FM transmitter for the iPod finally arrived. It took 2.5 weeks, FGS. I ordered it online early this month, and I kept waiting for it to show up. Last Saturday, I got an email saying it had been shipped that day, and was expected to arrive on December 26. Huh? So I called their 800 number and asked what the holdup was. Mr. Electronics Store said it was because they had been out of stock and had just arrived last Friday. I told him that if it had been out of stock when I ordered it, they should have told me so, so I could order it from somewhere else. He was very apologetic and asked if there was anything else he could do. I told him I knew it wasn't his fault, but to let his manager know that I was not a happy camper. He said he would pass that along.
As luck would have it, the transmitter arrived on Tuesday! I swear, it's true what they say about the squeaky wheel. "Ask and you shall receive," and all that. (FTR, I've always been a strong believer in asking for what you want:-)
One of my girlfriends sent a box containing 500 types of homemade fudge this week. OK, so it wasn't 500; it was 499;-) Also in the box were the most obnoxious bunny slippers you've ever seen. They're almost as big as my dogs!! Here's a photo as proof! (I left Bono in the photo as a visual reference.)

I started laughing as soon as I saw a bunny head in the box. (This is the same friend I sent obnoxious ducky slippers to last summer. She said she wanted the rubber ducky shown in the illustration for the Furfection microfiber towels [there are some people that canNOT be satisfied!], so I tried to make up for it by sending her ducky slippers. I never DREAMED she'd actually wear them!) Bono and Casey both thought they needed to be killed immediately, so I had quite a time keeping them from the bunnies.
Wouldn't you know, one of our neighbors stopped by with Christmas cookies while I had the slippers on?? I could tell he was trying to keep from laughing, so I told him they were a practical joke. (I think he was relieved.)
Did you see that Bono's namesake was named one of Time magazine's People of the Year? How cool is that?! Who said nice guys finished last? Wouldn't it be great if we were all as motivated as he is? Nice job, Bono. Very nice.
On that positive note, I wish you sweet dreams.
